The monthly update of “The Latest from the European Court of Human Rights”, the Bulletin edited by S&P Law Firm which monitors the rulings issued by the ECtHR concerning Italy, is now available.
Among the most significant rulings, it is worth noting Petrignani and Others v. Italy, concerning the compatibility with the Convention of value confiscation carried out through application of the so-called principle of joint liability.
Also noteworthy is the communication to the Italian Government of the applications Y v. Italy and Z v. Italy, concerning the alleged violation of Convention provisions in connection with the failure of the Italian authorities to execute the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Osama Elmasry Njeem (also known as “Almasri”), former head of the Libyan judicial police, accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
